Boy Humor

This afternoon, Dylan was laying on the couch being silly. He kept kicking his legs up really high, trying to make me laugh. The last time, while laying on his back, he kicked one leg really high in the air and tooted very loudly. He immediately looked at me with a HUGE grin on his face, and I, of course, died laughing... Yeah, I know... laughing only encourages that kind of behavior. But since when did my little baby boy become old enough to start laughing at bodily functions? It's all downhill for here, isn't it? (:

The Dog Days of Newborn-hood

So, have I mentioned that no matter how much I love my kids, I just don't absolutely love the newborn stage?? Yes, they're tiny and cute and sleep a lot. But they also can't tell you what's wrong.

Addison is still a good baby, except that she apparently has reflux, like Dylan did. So, yes, she's a good baby, but her reflux is the devil. The poor girl actually threw up on Sat and Sun this past weekend. It's very sad to see a newborn throw up and then be completely exhausted and in pain. It crushes your Mommy heart. Luckily, the doctor today gave us a prescription for her reflux, so hopefully pain-free days are ahead. Very happily, she still sleeps well at night!

Oh, for the days when her digestive system is fully developed... (more words I never thought I'd say before having kids).

On a side note... last week at her one month appointment, she weighed 10 lbs, 3 oz (75-90th percentile). Today, she already weighed 11 lbs; in just one week. This girl can really pack on the pounds!

Chunky Monkey

Like her brother before her, Addison is starting to really fill out. Hard to believe she turned 1 month old last Saturday! She's still a good baby, generally. Except that we're having some major gas issues... she really cries when she's in pain. Poor girl has been in pain a lot lately. We're trying to determine what's causing it, so she (and we!!) can have some relief.

Besides when she's hurting, she's generally really laid back. Still does a lot of sleeping and eating at this point. Can't wait until she gets more interactive... that's when it really gets fun!

We always took a picture of Dylan in the green chair on his month birthday to see how he developed. This is Addison's 1 month "green chair" picture.

Dylan showing off his skilz

I've been trying to get Dylan on film for a few weeks now. He's such a little sponge... he can repeat things back really well (kind of scary sometimes!). Anyway, he's picked up a few nursery rhymes and songs that we think are really stinkin' cute. Enjoy!

"ABC Song"... we didn't even know he could sing this, until this past weekend when he broke out in song. Nathan & I couldn't believe our ears!

"Hey, Diddle Diddle" and "Pop! Goes the Weasle"

More "Pop! Goes the Weasle" and "Humpty Dumpty"

The Moon is a Lemon

On the way home the other night, Dylan informed us that the moon looked like a lemon (it was a crescent moon).

His favorite movie right now is "Cars."  He could watch it over and over if we let him.  He actually has some quotes memorized from the movie... like father, like son.

The other day, Nathan was explaining what the word 'cooperation' means.  It was apparently a much too adult explanation because afterward, Dylan's only response was, "Whaaaaaaat?!?!".

The past couple of weeks

These are some pictures from the past couple of weeks...

We took Dylan to a pond to feed the geese some bread. Unfortunately, there was only one goose there that day, but he still had a good time.

We thought this was funny because it looks like she's already sucking her thumb, just like her big brother. In reality, she was just sucking on the side of her hand. Time will tell if she'll be a thumb sucker or not.

Dylan wanted to get on Grandpa Mick's lap to be near Addison.

A couple of shots that Nathan took of Addison and I. She's such a sweet, easy little girl!

Future Graybar Employee

One of the HR employees at Nathan's office had this onesie made for Addison. She asked if we'd take her picture in it and email it to her; she'd like to include it in the next Graybar newsletter (which goes out to the entire company!). So, this is Addison's modeling debut. (: The HR lady has apparently wanted to do this for years, but this is the first time... yay Addison!

This is the picture we actually emailed to her. There were plenty of bad shots, but we thought this one turned out alright. (:

This is one we thought would be hilarious to send in. Addison looks horrified to ever be a Graybar employee!
