Disclaimer: I may be typing this prematurely because it's only been one good day.
Yesterday afternoon, I decided I may be losing my mind--I'm not kidding. Addison had gone from a sweet, wonderful, super easy baby to a holy terror (i.e. anytime she was awake, she was fussy. And she almost never slept... all day long). I really thought I couldn't take it anymore... I was completely exhausted. (Not to say that I'm all caught up on sleep today, but there's hope.)
So, I called one of my oldest friends in near tears. After talking some more, she recommended a book that I promptly bought last night: Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth. In just a short 24 hours, it has changed my life... or at least, I hope! With my friends' help, I've come to the conclusion that (1) Addison does have reflux, (2) she very likely has a little colic, and (3) most importantly, she was WAY overtired. So, I now have her on a strict schedule for eating and sleeping. Based off of today she's a completely different baby... one I actually enjoy being around. She slept most of the day (a major miracle in itself), and when she was awake, she was smiling and cooing. She is such a cute little thing--it's much nicer to see her happy than always discontent. Yay for good sleep and for light at the end of a dark tunnel!!!! (And thank you, Leah, for the help and encouragement!)

I'm sorry I hadn't mentioned this book before. My friend with three boys SWEARS by it! She keeps them on a strict schedule until they are older and says it has entirely saved her sanity and family life.
I hope it continues to help and you and Addison both get some sleep. Thinking of you all.
Yep, we used that book too. Worked magic. Avery had about 2 months of possible colic, fussiness, maybe boredom, who knows. She cried all the time! The sleeping thing definitely helped, and I still put her down for naps after she's been awake for about 2 hours.
I'm so glad things are looking up!!! It's amazing what a little sleep will do (for you and for Addison)!
