Visit to Illinois

Earlier this month, the kids & I hitched a ride with my parents up to Illinois, to visit my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. This was Addison's first time to visit the place that I spent a lot of time growing up. We had a great time!

Looking out my grandparents' back deck at a storm rolling in.

Dylan read an Amelia Bedelia book recently that talked about a lemon meringue pie. Since my grandma is the Queen Piemaker, I told Dylan that maybe Grandma Darlene would make one with him. Of course, she happily obliged, and here he is eating the fruits of their labor.

Although, Dylan is generally frightened of loud noises, I was able to convince him that he would LOVE riding the four wheeler... I was right. This is his maiden voyage with Grandpa Bill. Couldn't hardly get him off after this. He is a motor head, afterall. (:

As you might have guessed from the decor, this highchair has been in the family for a lot of years. It's neat to see my kids eating in the same chair that I know I used also.

Dylan's other favorite thing was feeding the fish at my grandparents' pond.

Riding another four wheeler with my cousin's girls, Maggie & Lexi. Dylan LOVES his cousins... especially Miss Maggs (as he calls her).

Lexi is caring for some sheep for 4-H, so Dylan was able to see them up close and personal... he was a little unsure of them.
We all had a great time seeing our family. I think Dylan really enjoyed being in the country. It's so refreshing everytime I visit!
